area. Some of the homes and businesses have survived the test of
time and in turn have many stories to tell. The Copper Kettle was
once a tea house, and a place where many would rendezvous.
From the first Indian Tribes that called it 'The Land in the Sky
' to the Many European settlers who came to call it home Every where
you look there is a piece of American history just waiting to unfold.
The Catskills beauty is so great that it succeeded in captivating
and inspiring some of the most venerated American painters, writers,
and poets. Writers such as William Thureau, Fenimore Cooper, and
artists from the Hudson River School of Painting such as Thomas
Cole, Asher B. Durand, and Fredric Church, all of whose awesome landscapes
and romantic allegories make up what is considered the high point
of nineteenth century American art. So stay with us and visit one
